SO GOOD YOUR EYES HURT: GITMAN VINTAGE'S PHOTO-UNFRIENDLY FAVORITES

This season we received a bunch of great basics and solid wardrobe staples from Gitman Vintage's fantastic shirting selection. We were also really pleased with our more unconventional picks. Included in this group are the two shirts shown below. Both feature super-fun and functional pattern in the signature quality and modern cut that has helped make Gitman a fan favorite. Along with these stellar attributes, these guys also possess an unfortunate disability: their patterns don't photograph well at all! Unless pictured at a serious close up, they appear on a computer screen as completely indistinguishable messes. Hopefully, these closeup shots clear things up, so to speak.

Gitman Vintage - Short Sleeve Button Down Seersucker Shirt
in blue black
DETAILS: 100% cotton seersucker short sleeve button up shirt with single chest pocket in black, blue and white stripes. Made in the USA.
ABOUT: Take this traditional summer fabric a new direction with unexpected blue on black striping. Add that to this seersucker's naturally scrunchy look and you've got a tailor made conversation piece that's different enough to stand out even while it works with a bunch of different looks.

Gitman Vintage - Long Sleeve Polka Diamond Shirt
in red blue
DETAILS: 100% cotton long sleeve shirt with small key collar and single chest pocket in white, red, and blue micro diamond print pattern. Made in the U.S.A.
ABOUT: Here you have the perfect example of weird late 70's pattern reworked (note the lack of huge collar), reapplied (to a non-polyester fabric), and rediscovered to the benefit of those willing to give it another shot. Try this tailored button up with solid colors to let its complex pattern step up front or wear it with bigger bolder prints and let its micro-polka dots and diamonds lay the foundation.
